(06/25/12) Just an hour outside the windy city of Chicago, Joliet Illinois hosts the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals this weekend, June 28th – July 1st. Route 66 Raceway has a packed schedule for the 11th race of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, planned to keep fans entertained from sunrise to sunset. Aside from hosting two nighttime qualifying sessions and Championship Sunday, it is also site for the 2012 Jegs All-Stars race, one of the biggest races of the year for the Sportsman categories!
The entire Traxxas John Force Racing Team looks to rebound strong after last week’s bad luck in Bristol, especially Mike Neff. Mike had a great qualifying performance last week in Bristol but had mechanical problems in round one ending his day early. Mike would love to use momentum from his win he had last year and take home the Wally for a second year in a row in Joliet! An even better statistic for the entire John Force Racing team to build on going into this weekend is the fact that a JFR driver has made a final round appearance in the Route 66 Nationals the past three years in a row. If that doesn’t inspire some confidence for the Traxxas John Force Racing Drivers, nothing will! Remember that the fight continues for the last winnable spot on the Traxxas Nitro Shootout board in both Top Fuel and Funny Car categories. You couldn’t fit more action into a race weekend if you tried!
Join Traxxas this weekend in Joliet for a great weekend of racing. We will have our full line of RC cars, support staff, and mobile hobby store on site. As always, fans will have a chance to drive a Traxxas Slash, a Traxxas 1/16 Rally car, and watch our professional RC drivers demonstrate the agility, power, and strength of our Traxxas vehicles! We will be at the track all weekend, so fans can stop by anytime and check out what Traxxas has to offer, especially since Courtney Force is known to make appearances in the Traxxas area at every NHRA event! Traxxas looks forward to seeing you this weekend, but if you can’t make it by the track, stay glued to Facebook.com/TraxxasRacing and the Traxxas Racing Twitter page for news, updates, and pictures straight from the event!
