Congratulations to the entire Traxxas racing team on a successful, safe, and victorious weekend!
TORC – Mark Jenkins Win - PRO 4X4 – Round 6:
Mark Jenkins dominated the Pro 4X4 class in round 6 at Bark River International Raceway, beating the top drivers in the series to claim his first victory in the PRO 4X4 division. "I can't thank my sponsors enough, thank you brother Mike! I have the greatest sponsors, hands down" explained Jenkins. To top off the exceptional victory Mark walked away with the heavily sought after Oakley Bomb for the fastest lap, which legitimized his victory by throwing down the fastest lap of the race. The perfect reward to a perfect day. Congratulations Mark, to a job well done!
TORC – Rob MacCachren Win – Pro 2WD – Round 5:
What a race for the fans, Traxxas driver Rob MacCachren was the man to contend with, but no one would think that after he found himself in the creek in the first lap of the race. "I lost vision there for a moment trying to grab the tear off, I was pretty far sideways, I tried to save it and I realized, I'm gone, I was headed toward the water! Next thing I know I am in the creek" explained Rob. Racing action was stopped so the TORC safety crews could quickly get to the Number 21 truck and get Rob out of the water and back on the track. The race was reset as the TORC Nissan Pace Truck brought the field back around for a complete restart.
After the competition yellow Greaves and Menzies were battling out front, with Rob MacCachren joining the battle. After going thru the triples, Menzies attempted to make a move on Greaves and locked bumpers long enough for MacCachren to capitalize and get by both racers! The crowd was on their feet when MacCachren crossed the finish line first after starting at the back of the entire field.
TORC – Keegan Kincaid Win – Pro Light – Round 4:
Keegan entered the weekend after earning his first ever win in the Pro Light division at Eldora Speedway. Keegan quickly ran down Nick Baumgartner and was able to pass him after some contact thru the triples in the back section. "This win helps me relax a bit, feel more confident, you get your head on right and hopefully stay consistent and on the podium the rest of the year" stated Keegan.
John Force Dominates Ford Thunder Valley Nationals: Bristol, TN:
John Force continued to rewrite the record books winning for the 135th time in his Funny Car career. This is the 26th season the 15-time NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car champion has won at least one race in a season. Force defeated daughter Courtney Force, Matt Hagan, Blake Alexander and Cruz Pedregon on the way to his fourth Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Tri-Cities Ford Dealers victory. This was Force’s fifth win at Bristol Dragway. He also won the inaugural race, the 1999 Winston Showdown, when he defeated Bob Vandergriff’s Top Fuel dragster and collected $210,000 for the win and being No. 1 qualifier at that race.
“I really thought Courtney was going to take me out in the first round. Her Traxxas car has been flying. It is all in the teamwork. I told Cruz at the other end after he said, ‘Hey the old man is still here.’ I said, ‘Yep at least I still get to play with ya’ll.’ That is why I get excited about this. If you can’t compete you get mentally out of it and I don’t allow that. It is a great day and to have my wife here and my kids on Father’s Day,” said Force.
Liam Doran on his RallycrossRX win in Norway:
“I really didn’t want to come second today,” said Doran. “We have had very good speed all weekend and it was only my own stupid mistake that put us down the order. I think we have been the fastest car for the last three events now, it’s great to finally get the win.”
