Over-discharging lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries will cause irreparable damage and may cause battery failure. To prevent over-discharging, use Traxxas Power Cell LiPo batteries only with an electronic speed control (ESC) that has a low-voltage detection system. All current Traxxas ESCs (except Nautica) come equipped with a Low-Voltage Detection (LVD) system. If you have an older older vehicle, check your owner's manual to verify whether or not the ESC features Low-Voltage Detection.
How to Tell if Low-Voltage Detection is ON
Traxxas ESCs will display a green light to indicate Low-Voltage Detection is turned on. Castle Creations ESCs automatically activate low-voltage detection mode when connected to LiPo batteries and will beep once for each detected LiPo cell.
