XL-5 Electronic Speed Control
The waterproof XL-5 electronic speed control extends your RC fun to all weather conditions while smoothly supplying power to the motor. This high-performance ESC packs in powerful safety and convenience features like three separate drive profiles, low-voltage detection for LiPo batteries, and Thermal Shutdown Protection to prevent overheating. Traxxas' patented Training Mode™ reduces the overall power by 50%, making it easier for young or new drivers to develop their control skills before unleashing full-power. The XL-5 is also big on versatility with a built-in BEC and a wide voltage range to accommodate 4-7 cell NiMH and 2-cell LiPo batteries. Titan^® 12-Turn 550 Motor
The Slash includes a powerful Titan 12T 550 electric motor with internal cooling fan. The Titan features 12 turns of pure copper wire for big torque and increased power-handling. The integrated cooling fan lowers running temperatures for more fun behind the wheel. The Titan 12T requires very little maintenance and provides consistent torque and high speeds run-after-run. Beyond the specs, the Titan 12T is made for dirt-roosting torque, lightning-quick acceleration, big-air jumps, and just about any other 4-wheel fun that demands real horsepower.

Precision 2.4GHz Control
Switch on the power and drive! That's all there is to it with the TQ™ 2.4GHz radio system. There are no frequencies to manage, so the focus is on having fun. Race multiple vehicles side by side without interference. The TQ's advanced programming provides long-range control with smooth, glitch-free performance. The TQ's ergonomic design is comfortable for all day driving with an internal antenna that is impervious to damage.

3-channel Micro Receiver with Fail-Safe Security
The TQ 2.4GHz micro receiver delivers fast reaction times with reliable glitch-free performance. An integrated LINK button makes binding fast and easy with a convenient two-color LED status light. In the event of signal loss due to an accidental transmitter switch-off or depleted batteries, the receiver will automatically return the throttle to neutral and hold the last commanded steering position. The Fail Safe programming is conveniently built-in and does not need to be set or activated.

Sealed Watertight Receiver Box
Traxxas gives you the freedom to drive where you want and when you want, regardless of the weather. A custom blue O-ring seals the receiver box to protect the receiver from water. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a special water-tight seal. An aluminum antenna crimp nut looks good and holds the antenna tube securely in place.

Long-Wheelbase Chassis
Short course racing means banging fenders and the Slash’s tough composite chassis takes brutal punishment in stride. The long 13.2” wheelbase increases stability and features over 3.5 inches of center ground clearance to avoid high-centering. Time to upgrade? The Slash chassis already incorporates the mounting bosses required for the Velineon brushless power system. The chassis also features a special transponder mount under the front shock tower for competition races.

Adjustable Battery Hold Down
Batteries come in different shapes and sizes and you'll need to choose one to complete your truck. That’s why the Slash uses an adjustable battery hold-down to accommodate different batteries. Choose the reliable power and ease of our Power Cell NiMH batteries or go for the tire-scorching performance and massive runtime of our mighty 2-cell LiPo battery packs. Slash’s extended battery tray allows you to position the batteries forward or backward for front/rear weight bias tuning. An optional battery hold down kit is available for use with taller oversized batteries.

Chassis Nerf Bars and Reinforced Body Mounts
Integrated chassis nerf bars offer side body support for door to door racing action. Tough body mounts incorporate reinforced washers to support the short course truck body during big-air jumps and high-speed runs.

Scale Front and Rear Bumpers
Engineered to handle the abuse of bumper to bumper bashing, the scale tube-style bumpers absorb brutal impacts while looking the part of a true short course race truck.

BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A Tires
Slash wears satin-finish 5-spoke wheels with pre-glued BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A tires. The tires deliver the perfect balance of forward traction and side bite on asphalt, dirt, and any other surface you throw at them. Performance tuned foam inserts help keep the truck firmly planted through the most extreme power-sliding turns and on the most demanding off-road terrain.

Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles
The Slash’s heavy-duty steel turnbuckles resist impacts and allow for camber and toe tuning. Adjust your truck’s suspension settings to fine tune handing agility and high-speed stability. Slash makes RC racing easy for beginners, while offering the advanced suspension settings that seasoned racers demand.

Metal Gear Magnum 272™ Transmission
The Magnum 272 transmission features all metal gears riding on ultra-smooth sealed ball bearings. This tough and efficient design transfers power from the motor to the wheels through durable telescoping U-joint driveshafts for maximum articulation. Want to upgrade to Velineon brushless power? Don’t worry, the Magnum transmission is already built to handle the additional power.

Steel-Composite Planetary Gear Differential
The Slash's composite planetary gear differential utilizes a steel ring gear with a nylon housing for long life. Hardened steel internal gears deliver maximum strength during rigorous off-road bashing. The differential requires virtually no maintenance and its efficient design transfers maximum tire-shredding torque to the wheels.

Torque-Control™ Slipper Clutch
The Torque-Control slipper clutch absorbs driveline shocks to protect the drivetrain while putting maximum power to the ground. Semi-metallic friction pads and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control, run after run. The clutch’s innovative design allows you to replace spur gears without altering the slipper adjustment.

Motor Mount with Integrated Cooling Channels
The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. The molded motor plate includes finned cooling channels that allow the Titan's internal fan to pull air through the motor for superior cooling.

Heavy-Duty Yokes with Telescopic Driveshafts
Heavy-duty drive yokes provide maximum durability to withstand the twisting forces generated by the motor's torque. They transfer power to the wheels via durable slider driveshafts that allow greater articulation for increased suspension travel.

Hex Hardware
As you assemble your truck, you'll appreciate the high-grade metric hex-drive hardware used throughout. Hex-drive screws provide a more positive and secure connection than other fasteners. The black-oxide coating provides a rust resistant high-tech look and feel.

Heavy-Duty Hub Carriers & Steering Blocks
The Slash utilizes heavy-duty steering blocks and axle carriers to withstand the rigors of wheel-to-wheel racing. Large 5x11 mm heavy-duty ball bearings support the axles for long-term performance, smooth operation, and increased durability.

Rubber-Sealed Ball Bearings
Precision rubber-sealed bearings offer the ultimate in super low-friction performance and maximum protection in dusty environments. They are used in all exposed locations on the truck and they're virtually maintenance free.

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™
The Slash's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load.

Progressive Rate Powder Coated White Springs
Race-tuned progressive rate springs provide the best of both worlds. Over small bumps, the springs compress easily to provide a smooth and controlled ride. When the jumps get big, the springs firm up to prevent bottoming out and loss of control. The durable white powder coated finish keeps them looking sharp even after hours of racing.

Bellcrank Steering
The Slash’s high-performance bellcrank steering system delivers sharp handling and increased steering precision. This innovative design minimizes bump steer to increase cornering stability.

Custom Masking Decals
After assembling your Slash kit, you’ll want to paint your own unique body. Traxxas makes it easy by including pre-cut custom masking decals. Place the decals on the underside of the clear polycarbonate body and then paint your base coat. Remove the decals and paint again for that custom two-tone look.
