Going fast and staying cool are both part of the performance game, and we definitely like going fast. For more speed, we swapped the stock pinion for the 31-T pinion. Because of the increased power, that means more heat, so we added a heat sink to help pull heat away from the motor and keep things cool.

To keep an eye on 1/16 E-Revo’s vitals we installed Telemetry Sensors. We wanted to track our speed so we could impress our friends and brag a little. Then we installed a temperature and voltage sensor to keep track of heat and see how our batteries were doing.

More efficient transfer of power equals more speed and less stress on parts. We installed the optional Center Differential to balance the power output to the front and rear. We finished it off with the Steel Constant-Velocity Driveshafts to reduce rotating mass.

With the Velineon brushless power system kicking out some crazy power, we want to keep as much of that power on the ground as possible. To help us stay connected to the ground we installed a wheelie bar to avoid flipping on our lid. Then we mounted a set of Pro Response tires to keep traction on lockdown.

We’ve made it pretty clear, however, just in case, we’ll say it again. We like going fast. While our 1/16 E-Revo is pretty quick as it is, there’s always a way for more power. The Revo chassis has two battery slots, and it’s time to use them. We use a Series Y-harness to combine battery voltage and unleash 50+mph speeds. Is it crazy? Maybe. Is it fun? You bet!

Any project needs its finishing touches. From full-size vehicles to RC models, it’s all about the details. We opted for a set of anodized aluminum lock nuts and hex hubs. The hex hubs add a little extra strength and the lock nuts complete our project with the high-performance look.
