Top Ten Accessories for 4-Tec 2.0 and 3.0
Take Your On-Road Car to the Next Level of Performance
Exciting, authentic street performance is what the Traxxas 4-Tec® series is all about. The 4-Tec 2.0 Titan®- and Velineon®-powered chassis models arrive ready for action minus a body, so you can choose your favorite 200 mm body style from Traxxas and aftermarket body makers. The 4-Tec 3.0 models hit the road fully RTR in Corvette Stingray, Toyota GR Supra GT4, and Factory Five Hot Rod styles with a longer wheelbase and wider track for enhanced handling, greater detail, and outstanding replica style. All 4-Tec models are fully upgradable with a wide array of genuine Traxxas accessories and upgrades that make it easy to hone handling, enhance performance, and personalize your ride’s look. We’ve selected ten favorite options here, and you’ll find more when you click the Accessories tab for your 4-Tec model.

When it comes to a massive boost in performance with a single upgrade, nothing tops the Velineon Brushless Power System. The VXL-3s speed control and 3500 motor replace your brushed-power 4-Tec’s XL-5 speed control and Titan 550 motor to unleash the full 70+ mph speed potential of your on-roader. Installation is easy, and waterproof construction lets you enjoy Velineon power even on wet pavement. You can even trade in your brushed equipment for a discount on a Velineon system with the Power-Up Program; click the link for details.

Aluminum-body Big Bore shocks are the ultimate suspension upgrade for 4-Tec models (excludes Factory Five hot rods). PTFE-coated bores, titanium-nitride coated shafts, and dual silicone seals deliver near frictionless operation for ultra-smooth damping action and long-lasting performance. The shocks arrive assembled with 32 mm shafts, ready to fill with the included silicone oil. Optional 29 mm shafts are included to cover other 4-Tec applications.

Top off your 4-Tec 2.0 with a genuine Traxxas body for maximum realism and convenience. You can choose Ford GT, Corvette Z06, Mustang GT, and Cadillac CTS-V styles, each fully painted and trimmed for instant installation with no cutting or reaming required. You can also get each style in crystal-clear polycarbonate to finish your way with Traxxas ProGraphix® paints. Clear bodies include window masks and decals and are fully trimmed for fast, easy finishing.

Machined-steel ring and pinion gears offer incredible wear resistance in any 4-Tec and are especially beneficial to Velineon-powered models that put maximum load on the drivetrain. The ring and pinion’s precision-machined “spiral cut” design features a curved tooth pattern that minimize backlash between gears and maximizes tooth contact for ultra-efficient power delivery with superior durability.

If epic drifts are your thing, you can outfit your 4-Tec with a “spool” for even greater control and longer slides when you pitch it sideways. The spool replaces the rear differential to “lock” the rear wheels together for full-time power regardless of which wheel has more grip. The spool helps you initiate drifts more easily, stay in control at greater drift angles, and hold drifts longer. Installation is easy thanks to the 4-Tec’s modular design, and no parts modifications are required so you can reinstall the differential anytime.

Enhanced strength, more efficient power delivery, and greater wear resistance are the main benefits of upgrading your 4-Tec to steel constant-velocity shafts, and the custom-looking plated finish is an added bonus. For peak durability and performance, combine the driveshafts with matching drive cups in the same premium steel. Shafts are front and rear specific, drive cups fit front or rear and can be used with the optional rear spool.

All 4-Tec 2.0 models feature a strong yet lightweight aluminum center shaft in “natural” silver. You can personalize your 4-Tec with an anodized shaft in red, blue, or green to match or contrast your paint scheme or components. Aside from color, the shaft is identical to stock for simple swap-in installation and an instant upgrade in custom style.

You can fine-tune toe-in for quicker-turn or greater stability and adjust camber to hone handling and control tread wear when you trade your 4-Tec’s fixed-length camber and toe links for adjustable turnbuckle links. Bright anodized finishes in red, blue, and green increase the trick-factor along with adjustability, and the included 5 mm wrench makes adjustments a snap—without marring the links’ anodized finish.

If you’re getting your tune on, these adjustable arm mounts are a must-have. Offset inserts and hollow balls allow you to adjust the rear arms’ anti-squat and toe angle settings to alter rear traction and handling feel, and optimize for maximum corner speed. Bonus: you can get the mounts in anodized red, blue, and green.

For peak performance on high-traction surfaces, sway bars are a must. Sway bars reduce chassis roll and increase corner speed when high-grip conditions give your 4-Tec more traction than it requires. When properly matched to the track surface, sway bars “loosen up” handling for flatter cornering and higher exit speeds that keep you out front. The complete kit includes front and rear sway bars in three levels of stiffness, as well as all hardware and instructions.
Bonus Upgrade: LED Lights
