See How the New 4-Tec 3.0's Larger Chassis Increases Stability and Handling
The new 4-Tec® 3.0 chassis features a longer wheelbase and wider track developed specifically for the Corvette Stingray. In addition to ensuring accurate proportions, the longer, wider footprint improves stability and refines handling to deliver the steering precision and balanced feel of the mid-engine Corvette.
Over 15% Larger than 4-Tec 2.0
Traxxas stretched the 4-Tec’s already capable chassis over 15% to accommodate the Corvette Stingray body. The resulting 4-Tec 3.0 chassis provides the perfect proportions for the new Corvette. In addition to looking the part, the new chassis lengthens the wheelbase to 11.3″ for increased high speed stability (Don’t forget that all 4-Tec chassis are designed for easy 70+ mph Velineon brushless upgrades). The 4-Tec 3.0’s track also widens an additional 8 mm for increased grip and higher cornering speeds.
Tire Tech
The chassis changes alone are enough to put the new 4-Tec 3.0 over the top, but we didn’t stop there. The Stingray’s larger tires and detailed black-chrome wheels faithfully recreate full-size rims and rubber. The new tires and wheels are both wider and taller to increase the size of the tire’s contact patch. With more rubber hitting the road, the new Corvette Stingray stands in a class of its own when the road turns twisty. The rear tires are also wider than the fronts to fully fill the wide flanks and duplicate full-size car’s aggressive stance.
