    Lipo or nimh

I am looking at getting a slash locally and it's stated to have"Velineon brushless motor and Castle Creations ESC"

Can I use my nimh batteries with this setup or must I go lipo?

Nimh will work fine. Although, with lipo you will have alot more power.

If the car is already set up for lipo what would I need to do to use my nimh?

You just have to turn off the auto lipo low voltage cutoff because of the large voltage drop due to current demand with nimh you wouldn't get much run time with that. If you don't have a castle link this can be done by following the manual programming instructions of castles drivers Ed guide: http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf

As said above you could run NiMH but personally I would want to run lipo with that system, the motor draws a few too many amps which gives NiMH batteries a hard time. Lipos are as cheap as NiMH these days anyway so no real reason not to use them unless you already have a stack of NiMH batts and charger to use. If you do, you could gear it low and use these up and then replace with lipos down the track.
Pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the RC car

I've got 4 3000 packs and 2 2000 packs. Think I'll use them for now and purchase lipos later

You can get a larger capacity lipo for a few dollars more. SPC makes excellent lipos.

I wouldnt go cheap on a charger JMO Last thing you want to do is buy more than one.
$99 gets you the Hitec X1 Touch. Ive had that charger for awhile now and its so easy to use ANYONE could use it.
