    MM2 2650 in rally

i got the 2650 motor and MM2 ESC, have some questions...
how do i mount the ESC to the chassis ? is there a mounting plate to buy ?
i guess i buy the traxxas mount holder with the space on top for the fan like the erevo ?
what pinion/ spur should i be running for bashing ?
Do I have to buy the erevo slipper clutch ?

    Anything else I need ?

    thanks guys !

Anything else I need ? You will be needing axles if you haven't already upgraded them, MIP,Tekno, ect

    thanks guys !

Thanks guys. I am an avid follower of vipers thread but wanted to be sure.
So what part number is the erevo clutch parts ? Is it the rebuild kit or something else ?

Does 5626 actually have a plate aswell as that top mounted thing or do I just stick the esc direct to the chassis ? or to the original mounting plate and screw 5626 into it ?

no mounting plate needed or the included screws cant reach to the treaded holes on the chassis although, you can put some kind of cushion....., like on mine, I put double sided tape under the ESC and left the other sticky side sealed.

The E Revo clutch is TRX 5352R

As for mounting the ESC, I use the foam that came with the ESC, that strange shaped one? I peel off the one side backer and stick it to the bottom of the ESC. I leave the other side on. This acts to make a tighter fit to the chassis. The I just crew it in place. Be sure to pull the mounting post's away from the drive shaft as you tighten, as this is a close fit, and can drag against the shaft if not placed carefully.

Here is the MM2 mounted in my Ultimate with the 2400kv the proper way, with Rx box mounted at the nose of chassis.

Here they are mounted in the Ultimate and Rally flipped 180 degrees to accommodate the custom Rx mount and Chassis brace

    MM2 2650 in rally

    Thanks guys.
So with the clutch kit, do I pull out the rally one and use the erevo parts ?
How did you mount the receiver box in the nose ? Screwed or tape ? I hope all the wires reach that far ! lol

The RX box screws in up front. And yes you replace the parts with the Revo parts.

and make sure to put the pressure plate pin on shaft's 2nd hole, away from the diff. the receiver box held by 2 countersunk screws underneath the receiver so you have to pry out the receiver.

My kit finally came today. Do I need to get 5351 slipper pressure plate ? I have the standard 5556 and the plate looks too small for 5352x...or doesn't that matter ?

also, just checking that i can use the STRC aluminium motor plate with the 2650 motor aswell.

huma...what do you mean by the shafts 2nd hole away from the diff ?

    thanks !

Ok, if you take apart the slipper clutch assembly, you see two hole on the shaft and installing revo slipper clutch you have to put the pin onto the 2nd hole away from the diff.

Thanks, I think that's the position of my current assembley from what I can see.
What about the pressure plate in the picture ? That doesn't look right to me.

Something is not quite right about your picture, are you using revo slipper presssure plate on stock clutch assembly? You need the whole revo clutch assembly.

Yup it drops right in and easy to install 👍 does your rally wheelie now lol? I know with my sl4sh MT I've yet been able to hit more than 3/4 throttle. Not even 3/4 but pretty close and I hit 40mph and that's with 3s. I need to tweak the slipper a little more and then I'm gonna play with torque limiting see if I can't get her wide open.

It was pretty horrendous to begin with. lol
I lowered it and put some different wheels/tyres on that which are a bit looser and then dropped it even lower and now it works great. If I put the banditos on it backflips. lol they are wayyyyyy to grippy.
