    Spur

My spur gear is chewed up like there have been rocks going through it. I use the spur gear cover and keep my gear mesh correct. I did have to replace the motor mount bearing while I had it apart but what would chew up my spur?

Do you have an aluminum motor mount? The plastic one can distort around the bearing, causing the spur not to spin true. Also if your bearing failed, some debris may have gotten caught in the gears.

No I still have the plastic motor mount. The bearing was still in tact too.

There are two little holes in the rear bulkhead, to drain out water I suppose, but I have found that little stones and other objects can find a way up in there. The small stones are just the right size to get in the gear teeth and tear it up. If you don't run in wet conditions I suggest plugging those holes to prevent anything getting in.

I run in water and gravel. Maybe plug one hole?

How about one of those breathable covers to keep debris out? There have been some good reviews on this forum for them.

I would go for a good aluminium motor mount to stop chassis flex and get a chassis cover tooto have a stronger and cleaner truck......peace
