So I finally took the jump to brushless and I am super pumped. I bought all the necessary mounting hardware to mount my new a Caste Creations mamba monster 2. I'm running trencher x's all around and nimh 4500's. The install went really well, but I have some questions.
The guys at my local hobby shop recommended I run a 14 tooth pinion because i am using the nimh batts and I used a 68 tooth spur. So, the 14 T pinion wouldn't come in contact with the spur because the transmission would be on the motor can. So I just used the 18 tooth pinion that came stock with the MM2. I was wondering if it's fine if I run it like this? Also i don't know if it is the pinion/spur or transmission or the driveline but it sounds really "crackely" when I took it for a drive. I was wondering if this is usually what happens or if it's smoother.
Also it Boggs a bit when I accelerate every once in a while.
When I programmed the esc and motor I don't think I did it right. When I accelerate I think it isn't reaching full power. I re-programmed it like 10 times, when I drive it now the motor won't reverse. The esc will also beep once every once in a while.
Also if anyone has any tips for it let me know! I will eventually be switching to lipos but I just don't have the $$ to buy it. I love the system though it's really cool and looks bad *****!!
