I've recently had my stock motor replaced under warranty (excess play in the bearing), it was less than a month old when it was replaced.
Since getting it back it's felt much slower.
Today I strapped my phone to it and a gps app reckons it's only going 14mph
Any ideas? It's not in training mode, when I do that it's 7mph...
Try recalibrating the radio to the ESC to ensure you are getting full throttle.

Sorry, yeah I've tried that. Also I have two battery packs.
I've made sure the cells have been cycled and fully charged.
I wondered if the speed controller could be at fault?
Did you set the gear mesh too tight? How much backlash do you have?

Mesh seems fine. Is there a way I can test the ESC without a new motor? Voltage?
swap it out with a brushless pal and you will thank us
How's your battery? You can't check the output of the ESC with a voltmeter, but you should be able to check your battery output.
The other thing to note is that the calculated maximum speed for the stock gearing and tires is around 15 mph. Look at the gearing chart on page 21 of the manual. They show that the ratio needed for 30mph is 9.45 and that the stock ratio is 19.69. The stock gearing is 47% lower than their 30mph setup. This would make the stock speed 30mph * 0.47 = 14.39mph
New motor and now I get 18.9 mph on my gps app!!
