    Looking to go brushless. Suggestions?

    Hi all,
I'm looking to move away from my XL-5 brushed system and go the brushless route. I do plan on racing my slash on the track and was wondering what you guys recommend. I already did this with my rustler and went the velineon route. I like it but it seems to heat up too easily and I'm just bashing with it. I'm thinking the castle creations SV3 3800. Anybody running this? What are your thoughts? Thanks

Forgot to mention that I plan on running 2S lipo with the system.

I will recommend using the castle sidewinder SCT with 3800kv. It's 100 shipped, and since you are using 2s it should be great. I keep hearing great things about it.

I am running this in my Stampede with 2S and I love it. Never gets above 105f and has power up the wazoo.

Thanks guys. Yes I'm running the SPC 2s lipo already in my rustler. Great battery! I guess the decision is made and I'm going for the castle. Thanks all.

I'm running a reedy sonic with a castle mamba pro esc in my sc10. I call it the goldylox motor because it's not to fast and not to slow.

    +1

I've now raced my LCG Slash with the CC 3800, CC 4600, Velineon and Tacon 3650 11T motors. My favourite for racing is the 4600. It's way more urgent and responsive than the 3800 and has more than enough torque and top end. Runs a bit warmer than the 3800 but much cooler than the Velineon. Never had a heat issue with it. Have run it with SV2 and MMP, both worked fine.

On technical tracks where top end speed isn't needed the 11T Tacon motor worked really well as its power delivery is really smooth - amazing for such a cheap motor.
Pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the RC car

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to look into the cc motors. Anybody ever use the duratrax motors? Heard some good things about them too.
