How far do I screw pivot balls in?

I'm changing the axle carriers and putting steel hollow balls in. Problem is, it's been so long since I've taken an axle carrier apart, I cant remember the starting point for the pivot balls. I'm thinking 5 turns on the bottom and six on top? Can someone refrwshy memory? Thanks for the help.

I turn mine all the way in and then back them out until the knuckles clear everything when turning and then adjust for camber and then toe. I am not sure how many turns that is... I just know it works for me.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

When I put my new RPM arms on, I took a rod small anough to go into hole on a-arm and marked the depth on rod and then marked that on pillow ball threads. Because rpm says not to run the threads in to deep. Then adjusted out from there.

I just found an old set of rpm instructions and it says 5 turns on the top, aix on the bottom. Problem is, the rear aarms on my summit are stock. Looks like jimmie's method is the way to go.

I screwed mine until the treads were flush with rpm arms then screwed them in another full turn. after that I just camber and toe as needed using RPM gauges.
