    e revo gearing help?

I have an e revo with a tekin rx8 1700kv motor with a tekin Gen 2 esc. I am only using this truck for racing only. I need to know what is the best pinion gear and spur gear to run?

From the reading on the internet I see alot of people are using a 21/54 or a 18/58 Are these good gear setup for racing?

I believe 24/54 will give you 65+ MPH. You may want to try that!

IMO, good quality 4S lipos (40C/60C) is more than enough for racing the erbe - 6S is for speed run on road only (IMO). Also use the 20/54 gearing ratio and let us know how it works for you.

I am running a tekin rx8 2000kv motor with a tekin Gen 2 esc on 4S lipos with 21/54 gearing and I am considering moving to larger pinion. With running a 1700kv motor I would consider 24/54 but watch your temps.

hummm running a 1700kv on 4s probably runs like a old sick dog. I have ran an 1800kv on 4s and it does not have the snap and power of a 2200kv (ish) on 4s. A 1700kv motor needs to be ran on 6s to get it run like it should.

As for gearing, need to also figure in the track. ie long straights or a tight track with a lot of jumps and turns...
