While at the LHS today, I picked up an EZ Peak Plus 6.
I don't have LiPo's yet. I will eventually get 3 or 4 SPC 5000mAh's. Yes I know it probably isn't the best charger, for someone who's going to own multiple batteries. But as far as money goes, $90 is doable for the time being.
Anyway, right this moment I have 4 3000NiMh batteries. I know there's a lot of questions regarding LiPo's. But I have some questions regarding NiMh's.
Once I get my LiPo's, should I be storing the NiMh's fully charged or fully discharged? Given they'll not be used all that much.
I've currently got my EZ Peak set to 4amps to charge these. What exactly are the disadvantages to charging at 4amps on NiMh ? Does it just shorten their life? Which probably won't matter to me so much, given that I'll be upgrading to LiPo's eventually.
When they come out of the RC, they're hot. I put them straight back on charge. I do not let them cool down. Is this bad bad bad? or it it just a case again of it'll shorten their lifespan.
Also once fully charged, how quickly do they start losing their charge? in other words, if i fully charge on Monday, leave them in the car, come Saturday, how much of their charge would have disappeared, with them just sitting there ?
Anything else I should know about NiMh's before I accidently burn my house down.

I store my NiMH fully charged... and cycle them once a month or so.
Anything over 1C on a NiMH shortens its life and can make it false peak... I am sure there is more, but I skipped NiMH all together in this hobby. lol (NiCD to Nitro to LiPo)
Bad bad. Let them cool. Exploding cells are no fun.
Quite a bit, actually.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
