    steel axle shafts

    Do steel shafts make a difference in performance at all?

    Steel axles are bought for durability over performance improvements. I ran my Revo with stock axles without any issues... but I had a center differential installed. That made a big difference.
    Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

    As Jimmie says try the centre diff first, it takes the strain out of the drive line.
    Having said that, running hard on 3s all the time made us upgrade ours to steel. Hot racing being the best design.

    I'm waiting for my Traxxas DS and Axles shafts to arrive today. The factory ones sure tighten up after some use.
