Just wondering, who makes the strongest hinge pins for the 3908? I am using the lunsford titanium and they still bend. What does everyone think of the FLM hardened steel pins?
Titanium like aluminum or any other metal has grades, RC parts don't use the best titanium available because they would be crazy expensive... Titanium pins bend, titanium screws too and they also strip easily, more than steel... Funny right?

The flm hardened pins are pretty good but they can bend too. Some people use the plastix hardened through ejector pins but you need to have a way to secure them. Like the set screw in the flm bulks.
What kind of driving do you do? I too was disappointed to find the Lunsford pins bend easily.
I like ripping around in skateboard parks right now
Best thing I have used so far are Plastix ejector pins. You want 1/8 in. diameter. You need to cut them to size using a cutting wheel and put a flat spot on one end, assuming you keep the stock head on the other side. I used 1/8" wheel collar nuts for planes to secure them but the tiny grub screws strip out easily. Let me know if you find something else that works.
Where does one find these Plastix ejector pins? model#, length, etc

I have been using the 4939x stainless steel traxxas pins.
They are a lot stronger than the standard pins but will still bend in a very hard hit.
Ejector pin Vs RPM arm
Ejector pin 1
RPM arm 0

Old thread but I'm glad you brought it back cuz I've wondered about these pins for a while now.
I've been using the regular ole 5161 pins since day 1 and have broken only 1 size pin many times. No other pins ever bend or break. Just the one on the front lower a arm. So i cut all the rest of the pins in the kit to 63mm length and then grind the ends to a taper. This has tripled the amount of useful pins in each pin kit!
But if these ejector pins are so much stronger I may just give them a shot depending on the price / modding involved. I like to keep hacking to a minimum lol. I have lots of research to do.
