hello all, i have read the different threads and i still cant find a solid answer. is there a balancer out there reguardless for tires or blades that WORKS well with the xo tire ???? thanks
I use the "Dynamite" balancer. You will have to cut slots in the hex though for the Traxxas wheels. I don't understand why Traxxas chose to do this. All it does is make it so you can't put Traxxas wheels on other companies products. Why would they want to do that?

And what's the best material to balance these wheels? Foam tape?
I use black modeling clay

How hard would it be to make your own balancer? Isn't it basically just something to allow the wheel to spin freely on, that is level and has very low resistance? That doesn't sound too complex, or is there more to it?
For anyone using the Dynamite balancer, remove the bearings from the balancer itself and take the seals off the bearings. Its also a good idea to use a degreaser to remove the thick grease from the bearings. Then just be sure to oil the bearings up with some bearing oil and your set. I did this with mine and WOW! What a difference.
I haven't even run the xo-1 I bought yet. I tested the electronics while it was up off the floor. I noticed significant vibration in the front wheels when they were spinning. I'll be taking all the wheels off and balancing them now.

Using the Dubro balancer, I was able to get the wheels balanced right on the money using .177 lead pellets from my pellet gun. The only hobby store in my area closed down so I wasn't able to find any modeling clay. So I flattened the pellets using a large pair of pliers and using metal (aluminum) duct tape, you can get anywhere, was able to get them balanced dead on. That metal tape has a very good adhesive and should stay put. We'll see.
