How do I install dust boot to axle?

Like the title says. I have searched but turned up with no luck. It looks as though its tucked into the axle itself some how. Can anyone help with this? Pics is possible.

They slide onto the axles up to the area marked in red... not under anything... super glued in place.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

I already bought them. That's why I couldn't figure out how to put them on lol. The exploded views just show them on there.

But thank y'all for the help!!

So I'm looking at the exploded views and I see that the axles are two pieces. Are telescopic axles like that was on my Nitro Rustler?

The axles on my Maxx do not extend out or pull into two pieces if they are supposed to.

They should, sometimes they can get really stiff tward the last half inch or so of extension tho. My guess is theres some dirt or something that got in with the broken dust boot thats causing it to stick in there.

Maybe I can get in there with some WD-40 or something to help them come apart to clean. It seems like every one of them is almost impossible to move freely.

They may be assembled incorrectly. They will slide together in any orientation, but only freely two ways. There are two tiny bumps toward the top of the male shaft and two little divets on the lower end. These line up with the little slots or marks on the end of the female shaft.

Hmm I will have to look at that when I get home from work. When you buy the truck new do you have install/assemble the axles yourself? Just asking because the guy before me may have done it wrong or something.

The entire truck comes assembled. The previous owner may have replaced the shafts or part of them. There is a chance he did it wrong. When the shafts are inserted properly into each other, there is no binding. You'll be able to tell the difference.

No assembly required for any of Traxxas' RC's.

    Edit:

OK thank y'all for information. I'll be sure to check out what's going on with them when I get home. If anything it may be time to upgrade to some cvd's, ooooh no

I wrapped mine in masking tape to protect the boot, not tightly, just to have some protection from sharp sticks that will tear the boot. Just an idea. I run in mulch alot an those boots dont last very long for me.
