firstly apologies for any duplication, im sure this question has come up before.
I have a stampede vxl, just bashing on grass and gravel and i only use nimh batteries and its ample fun.
I really want to buy a slash 4x4 but im trying to justify it, the stampede goes just as fast and although handling and going in a straight line flat out is tricky, it does a great job and getting airborne is a big thing for me.
I am hoping there might be some people here with the stampede and slash that can justify having both or should i just buy some lipos for the stampede and get more airborne. (in advance i appreciate this is a slash area and i appreciate your advice)
The Stampede and Slash offer two very different driving experiences, so if you like both, have both. For me, which RC I grab really depends on the mood I am in and how I feel like driving; along with what I am wanting to do.
As far as being able to 'justify' it, that is all on you. I guess the two biggest questions to ask yourself is if you have the money to buy, maintain and upgrade a new truck, and if you really have the time for running and maintaining another one.

Thanks for that. Yeah I think I should just go and buy it, I just need an excuse really. But your point in the there being 2 different driving experiences is where I was getting at to help convince me.
To get a bit more granular through, as I use my stampede on grass over jumps / on the road jumping over curbs / flat out on gravel roads. As I see it, the Stampede might fare better at roadside curbs (here in Australia they are angled) but the Slash I could thrash on the road and gravel without it rolling.
The biggest selling factor for me (buying the slash) was its versatility. I can drive around on the pavement/ lose gravel all day long or I can go enjoy the beach/ skate park. Now I have put almost the cost of my truck (a 2wd base) back into traxxas upgrades, which means ill have to sell before i buy any more trucks. I got my roommate to buy a 4x4 because of similar reasons and a bigger budget.
2wd Slash with upgrades.
