Here is a pic of mine. It is by far the best upgrade that I added. It eliminated my chine walk.

Thats how I did mine.. I drilled out the hole with a step up drill bit. I did put my holes a little crooked though
Im unsure of how it will affect it. Its only a little off.

Sounds like you have torque roll. Move your strut position. Google spartan torque roll

Should the strut be angled up or down?

I had the same thing happen, but thought it was my new prop that was installed at the same time. I sharpened my prop and slightly adjusted my trim tabs, and it now runs straight as an arrow. I never touched my strut angle.

Hi carnes99 it's goes in a straight line but the boat lifts up on the left hand side and lowers the right into the water looks like the boat is leaning over only at high speed

I've been having the same issue with mine. Gonna do some adjustments on my inner trim tabs and try lifting my strut up some. and also Sharpen my prop some more.
Did read a good article yesterday that helped my understand rc boating alot more. I'll do some looking see if I can find it again.

Yeah that's exactly what mine was doing. Here's a thread that I had started about it.

Here's a article I found the other day, has some pretty good info in there. Well I found it useful as this is my first RC boat.

how do you know where to place 5" rudder? does it come with instructioins? I may have to buy it from kinetic racing because OSE is always out of stock on there stock dual water pick up. is it centered or appears towards starboard side but how much?

It's just about the same position as stock, in port/starboard terms. It does sit aft a little more.

ok carnes so you use same holes and ream them out a bit for new rudder? Would everyone recommend going for a 5 inch rudder with dual water pickup as opposed to the stock one at OSE that has dual pickup? I was hoping for stock dual pickup to avoid the work of installing a whole new 5 " but it the benefits are so goood maybe I will? especially when OSE is always out of stock.....of everything!

You have to make 4 new holes. If you look at my first pic up top, you can see where the original rudder holes are on the right. I don't know if this is better than the stock dual rudder, but I like it. Plus it's half the price than the one from OSE.

GREAT article. That's what I wish was in the manual. That should be a sticky.
