Looking spectacular! Better than anything you can buy hands down!!

Your axles should be going out on Monday.
Sorry it has taken so long... I guess I should have rethought taking on a project during our move.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Not a problem Jimmy as I was fully aware you could be moving at any moment. Look forward to getting the axles and see what how they can be mounted, hopefully with suspension using leaf springs. Just don't forget the wheel/tire that was sent LOL

Thanks guys and will be back on more often as got my computer problems solved. Ended being cheaper to get a new one than repair my old one, especially with all the sales going on now. Touch screen takes some getting used to.
Besides that been working on the suspension for the trailer and have it figured out on a scrap piece of aluminum. Figured it would be better to do it that way than drill a lot of holes in the frame. Will get some pics of the mock up soon and see if anyone has any suggestions, ect.

Thanks, only concern I have is having to mount the axles under the springs with the weight of the 1/4" dia solid steel of the axles. Hopefully can get the holes lined up right on the trailer frame and get the axles mounted and it works as the springs are not made to carry the weight of a summit.
This is the only way I could come up with to mount the axles to the springs as you can see it flattens the springs out more than I would like, hence the concern for how well they are going to be able to carry the trailer with a 13# Summit on it.

Bolts with washers is what is holding the springs to the mount. U bolts that came with the kit do not have enough thread on it to make them work even with spacers.

Thanks to Jimmie and his Grandfather I have these wonderful axles.

Doubt you will ever bend the 1/2" steel rod with your Summit on the bed of that trailer... little stronger than the threaded rod/knuckle tricks we were trying before. lol

Sorry about all the missing pics, have no idea what happened as they are all gone from my Photobucket account as well, in fact about half of all my pics are gone and was no where near the free storage limit.

In the process of mounting my axles with spring suspension, and didn't get it straight by 3/16".
Seems the more careful I am the more chance I have of making a mistake LOL. Must have measured it 6 or 7 times to make sure it was right, then have it off by 3/16". Which is not all that much but means tires on one side would not roll freely and scuff sideways. So get to do it all over again.
Will get some pic up real soon.

Here are some pics of one of the axles on the trailer showing the suspension or trying too.

Overhead view (another axle still to be installed)

End view trying to show how the springs will work.

Pushed down on the axle to show how it would look with the suspension working, or should say bottomed out.

How does it handle the weight of your Summit?

At this point Jimmie I have no idea as there is still another axle to install. To test it now would not really tell me anything with only half the suspension. 2nd axle should be easier to get put in place, not near the measuring involved with the 1st one. Will post pics when I get the second one installed, with tires on and Summit sitting on the trailer. Should not take forever to get it finished sense some health issues have been settled.

Trailer is done! Before I post pics will give links to parts used that I did not make myself.

    Tires/Wheels - http://www.gmade.net/bbs/zboard.php?...&desc=asc&no=5

    Leaf Springs - http://store.rc4wd.com/Heavy-Duty-Li...-4x_p_277.html

Leaf Spring Shackles and Mounting Kit - http://store.rc4wd.com/Leaf-Spring-S...Kit-_p_27.html

    Hitch and Ball - http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/120/1221/=r18dw4
    Item # 9416K47 & #9512K88

Axles - Jimmie's grandfather and Jimmie...which came out great and will never bend the 1/2" sold steel tubing.

I had to make the center support

    Close up of hitch system

Tilt works on its own once unlocked, just drive on lock it, to unload just unlock and drive off.

Tie downs are not shown as I forgot to put them on.

Sense my truck is liable to be out of hearing range at time thought it would be a good idea to add a visible warning light.

Decided the Summit doing the towing would need it the most.

First need to install a battery alarm.

Jimmie again came to the rescue when I asked him about it saying he had the light and would solder a lead on it for me. So here is the underside of the body showing the lead to the alarm.

Light location on the top, should show up pretty good for a good distance.
