Longer and wider trim tabs
I searched around on here an ose but didn't find anything. Has anyone tried making longer and wider trim tabs? If so what were the results good or bad?
These are the trim tabs that I just ordered. They are longer than stock. To go wider, most people run 2 trim tabs per side. Most say that it helps. [IMG][/IMG]

Cool! Let us know how they work.
It eliminated a lot of chime but I picked up more torque roll
I can see that the wider & longer trim tab would help with chine walk but not induce torque roll.
You may want to raise the strut (a little positive) and make sure both trim tabs are adjusted the same.
Make sure your rudder is straight and not off to one side or the other.
Double check your prop for sharpness. A sharp prop will induce less torque roll. Think of it like cutting steak with a real sharp knife and with a knife not so sharp... The sharp knife cuts through the meat much easier as a sharper prop cuts through the water with less resistance.
Too much pitch on your prop will also induce torque roll.
Just a few things to check and remember to just do one change at a time when testing and log in writing what you've done and the results...
I made the trim tabs a little shorter to see how that works out. So I measured everything as I always do but these are my measurements for test 1. I will adjust the trim tabs and strut accordingly.
Tq roll worse
Tq roll gone
Also how would I go about measuring to make sure the rudder is straight?
I was reading that benchmark recommends cutting a corner off the rudder to run their trim tabs. Have you done that and if not, does it run just fine without doing so? I was wondering if this was a mandatory adjustment for installation?
They recommend cutting the bottom right corner off the stock rudder bracket, but I have the kintec rudder so I didn't have to trim anything.
