OK started with an almost roller chassis with 2 bodies.
-no motor or ESC
-no batteries or tires
-no Tx or Rx
-have rpm sensor and voltage/temp telemetry
I have 2 sets if tires and rims,
-first set fit great from an Ofna 1/8
-Second are Phaltlines (PHL)- way huge see pics.
Not sure is I wanna cut the plastic parts of the chassis for the PHL's or not, would also have to cut the body, and PHL's would stick out of the body even after cutting.
So just looking for opinions - and the big tires are not for over 70MPH, just lower speeds for bling
The first pic is of PHL tires on, second pic shows Ofna tires in PHL's
I should also mention I have bought a Traxxas TQI 6507 Tx & Rx.
The motor I have for it is Thunder tiger OBL 49/08 770KV.
Did you have to cut the body to fit the tires? I like how it look.
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
Ok mods to the plastic chassis done today, to fit the PHL
And My TX
Maybe get an extra set of plastics for the stock tires since you've already cut the existing plastics.
more pics of the phaltlines installed with the body on please...I like!!
More pics of the body cutting mods, I may have cut tooo muck for an onroad car.
And this is why its cut so much - and yes the front tires touch on the inside.
Ok, so I decided to give this car a name
It just looks mean with the Red body and big tires.
Added chrome exhaust tips and put cunards on, and wing with spacers
Slash 4x4, Rusty VXL(project), Slash 2wd(project).
it would look even better if you can find a body that will tuck those wheels in
humay has left the building, peace.
nice. this thing does look mean!
Looks like a toy tyco would have put out in the 90's now. Except bigger and with the performance to match.
Id be interested to see what levels of grip you get with the giant meats.
I also decided I needed a better ESC, and since this build was getting near the price of a new one, I ordered a HPI Scream Brushless motor(1965kv) and Rage ESC for $146 cad.
That's less that what the Traxxas motor would be by itself.
And with all the extra stuff I ordered for it and buying the roller, I will have Just over $900 cad into it, once I get the motor & ESC. And No batteries included in that.
And that is way more than I wanted in it, I was looking at maybe $500 since I had a motor and ESC, which I tested in another rc and kept overheating the ESC.
E Aho Laula
OK rubberized the inside of the body
And the outside showing no overspray from the rubberizing
And started putting some carbon fiber detailing on.
Ok more carbon fiber.
I put the not modified body(without wing) on a scale and it was 240 grams
And the red modded body with rubber ungaurd is 265 grams
And I made a connector for the telemetry battery voltage

Added Alum Integy A Arms
A few more pics - just because
Gotta tell ya man. Your XO-1 is truly one of a kind
Ya, cant wait to see how it runs after I get a motor and ESC that doesn't die.
Got it about 50 feet before ESC shut off.
Be sure to gear it very low or you'll fry the motor or esc very quickly
Ya, im going to use the 14 t pinion, and 54 t spur.
That way I can test and then see what gears and speed I can run.
Sweet. Be sure to do a vid for us.
Ya, vid would be good - more so for the traction.
oh yea wonder how them 28" be like going high speed
A compare of my 2 Xo's
And Most of my Rc's
What tires do you have mounted on the white wheels?
not sure, they came with the rims.
Everybody says there off an Ofna
from the looks of it I'm going to assume your favorite color is white?
White - kind of.
My real car is white and blue decals - see mini trophy, has almost same decals, and all white bodies will get the same.
