Lipo power dude
Lipos already Waiting ...
I think you may have purchased things that it comes with. The Platinium has the center diff and sway bar kit. You don't need the heavy duty slipper clutch if you plan to run the center diff (it replaces slipper clutch).
With that motor you are going to want to use 3s lipo batteries and will then need a battery extension kit. The 3800 kv motor is better in the slash IMO. That way you can stick to 2s batteries. Really I would not replace the esc and motor until you drive it. The stock system is good for bashing. Don't forget stock electronics are waterproof and the castle system is not (unless getting the mmp 2 waterproof esc).
Everything looks great to me, except:
- sway bars and center diff are already included with the truck
- I wouldn't worry about using the center diff since you're not racing.
- thicker shock oil, and maybe stiffer springs, for the extra weight.
You'll love that motor/ESC combo. No heat worries at all, and tons of power. As soon as you get the truck, sell the stock velineon system, body, and driveshafts. That'll recoup some money.

...and this is mostly an aesthetics thing, but I think the true-scale body looks great with the stampede 4x4 shock guards.
Ohh, pinions and spurs. Get some 5mm 32p pinions, and some 50t 32p spurs. The pinions for the e-revo/e-Maxx brushless editions work great.
Don't use the pinion that comes with the castle motor. The grub screw is too small and weak.
Some decent hex tools are good to have, along with grease, and red and blue loctite.
The castle field link programming card is good too. If you get that, go ahead and get a short ESC extension cable. Leave it hanging out of the receiver box, and it's much easier to make quick programming changes.
this might be cosmetic but the lungsoford turnbuckles maybe ? i have them on my osi racer
Can I fit a traxxas (2878) 8400mah, 3s with the traxxas taller batery hold down?
If I were you, I would go for the Kings Headz motor mount. I have heard about some failures on the Golden Horizon model. Please post pictures of your build!

Just ordered a 8400mah3s, the tall battery hold down and rpm shock shaft guard. I already use the castle usb link.
Now i'm looking for the rpm a-arms. Are those the best?
About the 5mm pinion can i use the 17 tooth With out heating problems?
I still prefer the stock a-arms on the slash 4x4 because they don't eventually bend like the RPM's do. They're beefy enough to where they rarely fail (at least for me). I'm not racing my truck though. It's at least a pound heavier than it would be if I was racing it.
I'll trade you my Proline power stroke's with new spring tuning kit for the GTR's, that way your RPM shock guard's will work. With that beast of a motor I would look into Tekno or HPI pinion's. The traxxas pinion's, as much as I love traxxas do tend to break. I broke one running 3s on the stock system. You may want to think about just going ahead and doing the velcro strap mod. You will be happier than trying to use the traxxas hold down as the clip in front get's loose and you stay limited to what size lipo's you can run. That 8400mah 3s might be a tight fit, but I'm not sure.

Can you tell me what's the best gearing for my setup?
and the 8400mah is indeed a tight fit.
I would run it at the stock 13/54, if your temps are too hot then, gear down. But if you temps are cool, gear up.
Slash 4x4, Rusty VXL(project), Slash 2wd(project).
You can run higher gearing than stock with the MM/2650. Start around an 18t pinion and go from there.
