    what pinion?

    I have a 3908L came with the 3s 5000mah lipos I notice when I run it for like 15 min I touch the motor but cant keep my fingers on it to long it's very hot, has the stock pinion but temps on my itouch is about 160 what gives, should I just change the pinion gear.?

    So... what is the temp of the motor?
    If it is 160F that is perfectly acceptable.

    I am not sure what your "itouch" is reading... ESC, motor, battery...
    Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

    I second that. Mine runs between 140 and 160 degrees.

    I've ran 6s 30c 5000mah on 68/17 w The Castle 2200kv setup for 2 years and never once overheated

    yes that's what Im running, just saying I touch the motor and cant touch it for no more than 5 secounds I will just keep on eye on the itouch.

    Just about anyone's finger is a real poor thermometer... anything over 140F usually feels too hot but is more than acceptable for a motor or an ESC.
