You will need to buy the rear brake kit. The front disk will stay where it is at and then the rear kit goes on the back side of the trans.

I use it a lot in sand and loose dirt it's very rare I run it on the street
+1 on rear diff spool. I have one in my slayer pro, I run on alot of loose surfaces and I love the way mine performs. And If you do some running on the street the slayer pro drifts pretty good with the rear spool in...
For tires I run 1/8 duratrax lock out tires, have lasted almost two summers for me. And give some great traction in loose dirt, not sure how'd they handle in sand..
Paddles great for sand, but stink for other offroad conditions... A set of Trenchers or some decent MT tires like MaxxMashers, Losi Zombies will really stick well in most all offroad and onroad conditions...
Also, if your rear suspension is too stiff or you have too thick an oil, the rebound speed of your shocks will be too slow to keep the wheels attached to the ground when you are moving. Spinning out easy when applying power on a stright run offroad is a sure sign your suspension might need tuning for your purpose...
Rule of thumb, more firm the sring the thicker the oil. If your ride is bouncy go to a less firm spring or a thicker oil....
Also use the preload spacers for ride height adjustment, not to try to firm up the ride, that's just a side affect not the purpose.
