    charger stops halfway through charge

pretty new to the rc world but i have a 2970 ez peak charger, and am using smc lipo batteries with it and it seems like more often than not it will not go to a full charge on first try. i have to disconnect battery and start over. then i will be starting at the 3A mark and will complete.

    anyone else experience this?

    is it normal?

    thanks

yes & it usually traced back to the battery being bad..

    Bad cell wont balance
    puffed
run down to low & wont take charge.

We usually send them back ..

When it stops does the red light second from the bottom light up? If so, per the instruction sheet, the charge cycle timed out without the battery reaching its full charge. Many chargers have a safety timer and depending on the size battery - which you did not indicate - you are charging it is hitting that limit. Since the charger is 40w max, the higher the voltage the less amps it will be able to pump into it.
