Traxxas vxl 3s shuts off randomly

So today i turned on esc and everything was normal, but when i steer the wheel on the remote, the esc randomly shuts off. What could be the problem? I have 2 fans; one is on the esc and the other is on the motor. i heard people say that its the servo that shuts it off, so i removed the screws in the servo and turned the esc on and i try to steer and it works, but when i put it back the esc shuts off. Should i get a new servo or would it be the esc that i need to buy? And just so you know, the esc, motor, fans and servo arent hot
    Please help

I have never heard of this with a vxl-3,but maybe your having brown outs.
If the voltage at your receiver drops rapidly your system with shut down for a short time and recover.
You might need a resistor,or cap, also called glitch buster.
They plug into your receiver and supply short term power till the receiver catches back up.
I run them on one of my rc's that has a power hungry servo.

You should also call traxxas directly and see what they have to say about the problem.

stock servo and receiver and remote.
I have never heard of the stock servo causing brown outs with the vxl-s.
Unless it's having two fans,I always run an esc fan,and still haven't heard of it.
The stock servo is not an amp hog.
But who knows, that could be the issue.

Well i do have two fans, one is the vxl fan and the other is the castle creations fan, would that be the problem? And which capacitor should i buy exactly? The one on the link or is there a better one?

Just look them over and find the one that will best suit your situation.
They are many types and sizes, they have many different capacity's.
You really shouldn't need a large one,if it is your problem,it can't need to much of a boost.
I have never needed one with the vxl system.
You may first want to make sure your servo isn't acting up.
Especially if this just started, and you haven't changed anything to make it happen.

    Spot on point.
Venom battery's have been known for connection trouble.
And if this just came about with no modifications, except battery's,that would be the first thing to try.
Lately in hi dust areas,we have been having battery connection problems on a steady bases.

@ksb51rl, It's often mind boggling the knowledge you guys have from doing your job.
Thanks for all the help you have given me over the last year.

My stock servo went bad, didn't seem like anything was wrong but randomly it would just cut out, steering locked into place, free wheeling into a curb.. had no idea what was wrong... Try a new servo.

Was the servo causing your esc to shut off completely?

Sounds like a brownout to me. Unplug the fans and see if the problem goes away. If it goes away, it's due to the fans drawing too much power and you'll need a capacitor. If not, it's likely a battery or servo problem.

The same thing is happening to me now. It is the servo. Im ordering a Tactic SX45 soon. Turn your rc on and steer all the way to one direction and hold it. Youll notice that the fans will slow down and the reciever will go dead. My servo is bad anyway so I think its something that is built in to the reciever to prevent it from going bad on you and crashing.

That was the guys who made the thread. I run the VXL 3S, 3s Lipo, 2075 Traxxas Servo, Velineon 3500. That enough?
