Gosh you are such a bad luck charm, so many things went wrong. But at least the events are helping you upgrade

All is well with it again.
    Installed the ESC.
Not a fan of the extra wiring and I still need to make a mount for the on/off switch.

    Thanks.
It's the Golden Horizon big bearing motor mount.
    I like it so far.

A buddy of mine and I took our cars out to the local BMX track this evening. I bashed the crap out of it; the only problem is the Velcro I used to hold the ESC down is not sufficient; and the TQi receiver is still giving me problems; if I lost sight of it over a jump I would loose signal; so I guess I'll need one of those.
    How's this for bashing?

I'm going to make a proper mounting plate for the ESC now; and buy some 3M double sided tape.

Finally after a long wait my Proline Badlands showed up. I can't wait to tear up some dirt with these!!

As for the Bandito road tires that were on the wheels before; I will be getting a different set of wheels for them and glue them this time.
Not sure what to go with for wheels yet.

    Looks Great Clint!

I went to HW during lunch, and they didn't get any PL beadlocks in So I ordered a set on ebay with Badlands.

I would like to get a set of rims that are bigger in diameter so I can have lower profile tires for that cool look

That's awesome! Great minds think alike.
I'm not too sure what tire and wheel would give a lower profile side wall unless a person went to a 2.2" or 2.8"

I have had the 2.8" test fitted on it, but decided against it until I get a better servo, body lift, and figure out the shock rubbing clearance issue.

Yeah, the whole chassis and body clearance is going to be hit or miss. I was thinking a set of Stampede wheels, but then they may not clear the body and require cutting the fenders of the truck body. You maybe able to get away with it on the bug body.

You would think this is something easily made by Pro Line. Just make the front diameter of the rim the same as the back

Hello, I have been reading through your build. I think I can offer a little help to you. You got the Banditos! They are an excellent tire! You are having trouble with the truck rolling over? I had the same problem and the way I was able to solve that problem was to put thicker fluid in the shocks. My street Slash sits as low as possible but my ( Ultimate ) basher was a different story. So I went off the deep end and put 80 wt oil in the shocks! It worked! It doesn't hardly roll over at all. As to what rims to put the Banditos on, you could order more beadlock inserts for them. That way all you would have to do it slide them on the beadlock wheels when you want to run in the street. The Badlands are an amazing off-road tire! Just make sure to rotate them. I switch the other side of the truck they are on so they wear evenly! You have a great looking truck! Keep up the good work!

It's been a while since I've had a chance to play with my Slash, the hobby store had a bunch of goodies there today that I figured I must have.

Picked up another Bug body and a 1979 Ford F-250 body, some aluminum steering bits, front MIP drive shafts (rears will be in next week), couple of new bearings for the big bearing motor mount, paint, 15 tooth pinion gear and finally a Castle 1415 motor to go with my Sidewinder ESC.
    Pretty excited.

Looking forward to getting it all installed; I have had an idea rolling around in my head for a paint scheme on another Bug body; it won't be any ViperZ paint job lol! I promise it will something different...

    Should look nice Clint!

I went to the store today after work and there was no new paint, so I bought the 2 remaining cans of Florescent backer white, to use as white. It should do the job fine...

Picked up the rear MIP CVD's and put them together this morning.

Also grabbed an 18 tooth pinion, new lights for the front bumper, and some paint.
Now I just have to make time to put the rest of it together.

    I'll be doing that eventually.

Well I put the motor, ESC and other goodies I bought on, I wasn't able to put on the MIP axles on the front because they were missing one of the "barrels" that couple the CV joint; I called MIP and a new one is on its way here (very happy with that). I ran it slowly after I put the rear axles on and found a bit of lateral play in the output shafts, I replaced the diff cup and all the bearings in the rear bulkhead and there is still a touch of movement.

Then I took it out to test and play... Wow! I never thought I would see it wheelie! I had the 18t pinion and 54t spur in it; the motor temps were no more than 107 but the ESC went to 140.
I'm going to put the 14t I have in it and test that out later.

Needless to say; I'm very happy with it.

If you had good temps and you liked it then why would you want to go lower if they were that low then you can go even higher.

    Because speed kills. Hahahaha!
I should also mention that the ESC went into thermal protection at one point; so it needs to be rested more often or slow it down. I'm going to get a fan for the ESC if my Traxxas fan doesn't fit it.

Okay guys and gals; I painted a new body today; how's this for different?
I call it polka dot graffiti.

    Thanks gentlemen.
I picked up a JConcepts cover today for all the important bits inside.
I would prefer an Outerwears cover but for now I'll try this. I'm going to watch my temps for the first few runs, I cut out all the duct holes for air flow as well.
