Just found this link. Hopefully this battery technology will come to rc soon.

No I am not a treehugger or advocating for toyota in any way.

Been really excited about lithium-air batteries for some time now, but like all of these technologies in their infancies... only things SIMILAR will appear in time. So slowly in fact that by the time we get 20x the density we currently have, the next big thing will promise 50x that, it's a never ending chase/cycle.

With my nitro car I enjoy extremely long run times, but if they start making batteries like that I'd go electric.

I get roughly 1 hour run times in my Summit... that is going all out full throttle non stop.

Batteries like this would simply be insane.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Wow... I wonder how long the run time would be if it was the size of a normal lipo...

I imagine as technology improves so will charge rates.
I already have 1 set of lipo's that claim to be capable of a 10C charge rate.

Don't think they will be around then... usually businesses that rake their customers over the coals like that do not last through the ages.

except that the big mags keep voting them "best battery of the year". It may take a while to purge the scoundrels.

I agree... and I also have no doubt in my mind that they pay their way to the top.

Every non-biased independent test/review I have read does not favor them.
One individual put them up against the cheapest of the cheap batteries... the cheap batteries won and they posted the video of the real world results up on YouTube. They sued him to force the video to be taken down.
Another disassembled the pack only to find that the cells within the pack to have the real ratings printed right on them... and those ratings were WAY WAY below what MaxAmps was claiming.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Another extremely high capacity and slightly more radioactive battery type is the atomic battery. Not rechargeable. It they should pro ode a out 20 years of continuous running.
60% of the time I'm right every time.

Cant get em wet... They need air as one of the main ingredients. Unless you made an air tank???

Now a lithium water battery.... Just submerge the pack in the "tank" compartment of your elect boat, and the battery would run its entire life without stopping... Now that would be a fun cycle....
