I put gorrila tape on mine to help strengthen it. Its not bullet proof of course but it helps and keeps the paint from rubbing off on the sides.

Use some shoe goo over the cracked area on the inside of the body. It helps provide some strength while still being flexible and assists in stopping the spread of any cracks. You can also use it pre any damage on any areas that you feel require a little strengthening.
    Always get a 2nd Opinion!

Drill a hole at the end of the crack so it doesn't keep spreading

No, just slightly larger than the split. Make sure you center the hole on the end of the crack. This will stop it 'cause there will be no split on the other side of the hole. Don't forget the shoe goo, I got mine at Walmart.

Same here. Got mine are Wally World. Tub of shoe goo is like 3-4 bucks. Drywall tape is like 4-5 bucks. Did the whole inside of my stock maxx body. I beat the heack out of it the past 2+ years. Finally starting to crack beyond repair.
