    New Slash ( need help)

I bought a new slash and ran it a few times. It comes with extra gears. Can anyone please explain to me if it will make it faster or slower. I have a Stampede that my son and I use. I feel that the stamped is faster.

Which model, XL5 or VXL. Either way, if the gear is higher teeth, yes it will increase top end speed, but will also create more heat, you need to watch your temps then.

Yes its the xl5. The bag had an extra gear that went on motor and a bigger one that looks like it goes where the slipper clutch goes. Do I replace them both

The motor gear (pinion) more teeth= more speed, more heat. But, the spur gear is opposite, bigger spur, slow, less heat. Sorry, I should have been more clear. You can change both, I normally change just my pinion gear to higher teeth for more speed. Manual will have a chart that help.
