    changed pinion gear

    hello all... ok. i just changed the stock pinion gear for a 19t. i am running a 7.4 and and 11.1 lipo. my motor seemed to get really hot..is there anything i can do about this or should i put the stock gear back in?? we are mostly running in open fields and jumps. i just wanted to go faster, but i do not want to damage anything.. any help???

    You are geared too high! The stock motor can't handle that on a 3s lipo. You are risking motor failure, so go back to stock gearing.

    thats what i thought... how will it handle the stock 2s lipo??

    +1 being geared too high! If you're going to be running on grass or in fields, you need to keep it geared stock or lower. I've never changed the gearing on mine and it runs nice and cool no matter what terrain I'm on.

    are you running the 2s lipo with the larger gear?

    19T on the stock with 2s is still too much I wouldnt go past 16T. If you want ludicrous speed your gonna need more motor! Read up a bit here, plenty of info on the subject.
