    Anyone here race Karts?

The last few years I've been racing Go-Karts. Not the cheap kind at amusement parks either. I'm talking full blown race Karts. Anyone else here do it either? -Birel #13

From ages 9-13 we raced dirt oval karts. We were track champions along the way too. Now I'm 14 and race Xcel Modifieds (Like a midget or a sprint car without the wing) I always like driving amusement park go carts because of how slow they are

If I remember right, this kart was a 2010 Ultramax with an Uncle Frank's motor on it. I ran in the JR 2 Red Plate alcohol class.
That motor read on the dyno at 12 HP! Not bad for a 5 horse B&S motor Maxxis heat tires, Firestone feature tires.

This was my last kart, on a high banked 1/7th mile, we reached about 65 MPH

This is my current ride: 2009 Xcel 600 Modified, 600 cc suzuki gsxr motor, 120 Hp-900lb ratio, it rips. about 80 MPH with this class

My first win of my rookie year was this night... 2012 season

Sometimes I miss karts though, just because of how simple they were...

Dirt would seem more fun to me, but I guess I've always been a "dirty" guy. I'd love to come drifting in around a corner to the finish. Sounds awesome

Trust me, on road is more fun due to the speed. Plus, like you said, there is nothing like coming around a corner in first gear and just pinning it and letting the back end loose causing a drift.

Back when I was a teen my buddy and I both had shifter karts with 125cc Yamaha motors.
I know mine would run 80mph+.
My buddy's dad pulled the motor out of his and replaced it with a CR250 motor.
I drove it once...scared the poop out of me.lol.

A 250? Jeez. That would be illegal to race, lol

    We didn't race...other than against each other.lol
    It was still fun.
On a tight track...you couldn't really tell that the 250 had that much power...but it was much harder to control.
But on a straight stretch...GEEEZZZ!!! Talk about "pucker factor".lol.

Any popular race track in Denver? I have recently moved here and not aware much about the neighbourhood. Thanks in advance.
