Why is my sons summit slower then mine?

Today my son and I were doing some drag racing when we noticed his summit is simply slower then mine.
We use the same lipo batteries and they are both fairly new.
Do summits come out of the box slower for learning then you have to program it for regular speed?

    1) They have a 2 speed transmission. You have to manually shift them from the transmitter. Make sure they are in the same gear. 2) they may have different gearing. Check the pinion (the gear connected to the motor shaft). A lower tooth pinion will have lower speed. 3) Not sure if the EVX has a beginner mode, check the manual. Hope this helps.

    Evx2 has a 50% power training mode.
That is what I broke mine in on, figured I would full throttle it and ruin the breakin, might as well make sure I didn't mess it up too bad.

Does yours have a few more runs on it?
Brushes may be seated a little better,
    Giving you better power transfer.

    Sent using lipo power

Exactly what I was going to say.
Speed varies a LOT with brushed motors...
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
