    Dying/painting servo case

Hey guys, was looking at Summit today and thought I should paint/dye the servo case to red to match my truck instead of blue. Anyone have any ideas on how to do it?

Never painted a servo before. It would have to be dyeable plastic.
Make it idiot-proof and along comes a better idiot

Dye has been tried... the case does not seem to take dye well.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

I painted mine with a vinyl and fabric spray dye, holding up great, 3 years so far

There are a few vids on YouTube for painting sevos, long & short of it you have to take them all apart & die the casing with rit die. I have seen some painted using chrome base coat & then a metalic paint over top again best way is to take servo apart first. there are a few you tube vids on this as well I will see if I can find a few links for you.
Don't take it out unless your going to use it.

Taking the servo apart is fairly easy, and I can do it within 5 minutes.

I'm gonna do that! Wish I could do it in red, but whatever. Gonna be sweet, until I get to the micro servos! 😔

The anodized paint looks really good when done right you can do it in a red that will match up nicely with summit stock body but once you do it you will want to do other parts to like your receiver box, body mounts ect. I have seen 1 esc done but don't recommend that.
