    slash loses conection

    If the little silver tip of my antenna got broken off will that cause the truck to not respond to the controller?

    Possibly, but for sure range will be greatly diminished

    definitely, put fresh batteries in the tx/rx and range test it.

    The little black wire that is left is a small coaxial cable. you can strip the outer black part off about 3/4" and the iner clear cable with a wire in it will work fine as an antenna. I have done this on several and all worked fine.
    It is a delicate cable so if you know someone good at delicate things they could be of help. Don

    Stock the unshielded exposure is about 29mm (1 9/64") which is a touch less than theoretical 1/4 Wavelength for 2.4 GHz
