Yes... and from what I read they require more shims and are not any stronger than stock.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Thanks for quick response. I think the stock ones would have been fine in my sons, if I would have shimmed the diffs from the get go. Which you shouldn't have to do. But if you look @ the depth of gear mesh. The factory ones are shallow. The HR ones look way more precision machined. Not cast steel. But on the other hand, the HR center gears I hear are really weak.

So is there different HR part #s besides VXS9282. Any updates on quality of the ring and pinion are appreciated.

I ran shimmed stock from day 1... over 200 packs later they were still going strong in my MERV. The only reason they failed after that was because I was running 3S with 100% punch and doing back flips.

I had them in my original merv and they worked good. I had a 1/10 system running 3s and never stripped, but i also had HR's secure lock bulkhead and in all honesty i think just having the bulkhead would have done it. And the HR ones dont really seal well and SUCK to shim if you have CVD's.

    Just my 2 cents

Read this thread: (and save your money for something worthy, preferably not from HR)

There are lots of ways to do that. Most are wrong.

They are the exact same thing that has been discussed and linked to in this thread.
