So I want to replace my stock motor, the 3500 brushless. I want to be able to get up to high speeds with out worrying about temps. What is a good motor to get? Don't care if I need to replace the esc. Also what does the kv mean? Is it better to have a higher or lower kv?
I've been doing a lot of research for my self because I just replaced my motor. I'm not concerned about going super sonic so I went with the tenshock sc411 4000kv. But from all the reading in forums that I did prior to making my decision it sounds like you need the caslte creations 2400kv. A lot of guys say they can run 3s geared properly without over temping. I'd start looking at it then ask some more detailed questions about it here if you like what you read.
This link will explain kv. I found it helpful. Also you can go to YouTube, type in what you want to know and there will be rc videos that are very informative. Good luck
Patrick is correct! I highly recommend the 2400 motor system! It is a great system that can be geared to run at a very high speed without getting hot. I have it in both of my trucks, look at my signature.

+1 on the 2400. Get a mamba max pro or comparable ESC and turn the punch control up a little bit, or you'll be buying new driveshaft very quickly.
My vote goes for the 2400kv too. I now have that motor in 5 of my trucks.
another vote for the 2400
Drive it.Break it.ebuild it.
Go 2400. 2s,3s&4s lipo. Crazy torque and speed. Can't go wrong with it.

That's for all the feedback. Sounds like I need a 2400. I think I'll look into castle. They have good products.
