    8 Cell Traxxas NiMH does not fit

    New Stampede. New 8 cell. Does not fit into battery mount. Has this happened to you. Thanks

    Hi Garywi,
    Try putting the battery in the other way. With the wires facing the front. if this doesn't work, you may have to get a longer one. You could also use Velcro straps to secure it.

    Traxxas part 5827X is shown in the pictures. Also, the battery hold down was designed to have the battery face this way as there is a channel for the wires. Anyway, it still does not fit if I switch the battery around...

    in the 2nd pic you have it rite, but you need to flip the holder upside down, there meant to be 2-way, try that!! it should work

    yup upside down will work perhaps so try that i seen it should fit

    A word of caution. With that heavy of a NiMh battery and 8.4 v on the 5 series, if you run hard it (and everything else) is going to get really hot. I fried two 4 series batteries before switching to Lipos. They barely get warm even when the motor and ESC are starting to get hot, and they're lighter too.
