how do i correctly mesh an 18 toothed pinion gear with a 54 toothed spur gear. i already tried and i think its too loose it makes a really high pitched sound at top speed

i have a slash its differant
The concept is still the same.
Use the paper between spur and pinion, just like the video shows.
That sound could be your slipper dude so make sure its right and bridic is right the paper way is the best...peace
Famous last words...watch this!!!!
As for noise it could be too tight of a mesh or a loose slipper clutch.
The slipper should be tightened all the way then backed off 1/4 to 1/2 turn. If you get into really large high torque motors its more like 1/8 turn backed off.
