    1:1 gearing

Where does everybody get these tiny 30-something tooth spur gears? I have 31/76 gearing now... but I want more top speed. Where is everybody getting gearing for a 1:1 ratio?
To the men and women of the US military, thank you

If you want a lower gear ratio, I think you need to step to 32P or for even lower right to Mod 1.

u cant just run 1:1 gearing with normal electronics. u will fry em SO fast... They will heat up in literally seconds of running. 1:1 gearing is coming from Mamba Monster Set-ups. The KV is way low to 2200kv, and thats why it can handle it. But unless u got that going, and are going for 100mph, the way for more speed is a more powerful brushless system, and or more powerful Lipo. aka 3S...

initial testing has shown me that even with this powerful combo, 1:1 is still a temp monster, and its something I will be paying very close attention to.. Temp gun always comes in handy for sure!

    Build, Bash, Clean, Repair, Repeat..

What speeds are you getting with your 31/76 gearing, and what motor/esc?
My Black & Blue Rally is faster than your color...

I couldn't even get one pass out of it? My motor and ESC aren't even warm with the 31/76 gearing. Ok... don't laugh... I'm getting mid 40s with that gearing and I'm still using the VXL-3s and 3500 Traxxas electronics on nimh batteries. I'm broke and don't want to buy lipos.

You would be sorry if you ran a 1:1 ratio with nimh packs. That would put a huge load on the power system and the nimh simply would not be able to feed it. The packs would over heat and be damaged trying to supply the juice the power system would be trying to pull from them with a 1:1 gear ratio.

+1. With that gearing using NiMH, it almost works like a short circuit.

I still want to know where everybody gets the gearing. I'll get lipos eventually (christmas).
