What is your price range? How much are you willing to modify? I bought a set of D8 shocks for about $75 but they are not a direct bolt on.

I was looking at the GTR shocks a couple of days ago on Traxxas' website. It was hard to determine which springs I needed to get to fit them. Do you have any suggestions on spring selection for the GTRs?

I think my friend runs the stock springs for the 4x4 slash.

They are completely different shocks. You won't need aluminum caps. They are the same length as the stock shocks. You will need springs that are meant for the the shocks.

So I got my Big Bores installed with 45W and some spring inserts and it's a MAJOR difference. Now I need to upgrade springs because the white stock springs that come with them aren't robust enough to get that shock to fully open back up quickly once compressed. When the truck accelerates it rear-end drags bigtime. But man oh man what a difference with shock absorption and braking. More testing and fine tuning to do for sure but so far I like the upgrade from the Ultras FWIW.

Yea that's what I did, each shock has two of the widest spacers on it. The second helps some but it's still a bit sluggish coming back up.

Your springs are compressed quite a bit.... Your oil might be too thick or you really need new springs

Are you sure you have the right length springs? some are not as long as others

Yea the springs are just too soft. I'm not comfortable with them that compressed either. I just threw a second spacer in to see if it helped with the reload, it does but compressing them that much is not what they're designed for. I just need stiffer springs.
