Steve at STRC is taking pre orders for the STRC LCG slash conversion. The new batch of chassis's arrive first week in September. If you missed out the first time around here is your chance to get one. Still easily the best priced LCG conversion for a Slash.

Its setup to fit all standard 2S lipo packs and I know some of the 3S lipo packs fit as well. I run 6000 2S lipos and have plenty of room to spare.

STRC LCG Chassis for SLash 4x4!

Just ordered the chassis. It will be ran with scte shocks, hw SCT pro and 4000kv 4pole, savox 1256 servo. Should be a blast to run. I previously had a tekno SCT410 but stopped driving sc and only ran 1/8 truggy and buggy but I decided to run sc again and to go a little different route. Hopefully it will be here in time for the nats warm up race this weekend so I can start tuning and see how competitive this kit can really be. The bar has been set pretty high by the tekno but I have full faith that with some tuning and a couple aftermarket parts that I can get it right on pace with the tekno.

Just put mine together but only for mock up, I have a bearing kit and several other parts coming in tomorrow. The fit and finish of the whole kit is very good. I didn't run into any issues thus far other than it has zero flex which if you are a basher that's great but as a racer a little flex locks down the rear end in the corners so I'm going to cut the top deck down until I feel a little flex in it. This weekend is roar nats warmup race so it will get plenty of testing and tuning. Ill post pics tomorrow after I get it rebuilt.

It's great but it's heavy and does go through batteries about every 6months. I live in Texas so it's very hot and the extra weight just destroys batteries.

Did someone tried the Pro-Line Pro-spec shocks with the STRC chassis? It would be nice to hear about your experiences. What shock oil and springs to use?

With strc kit, all you need to transfer are the diff cases, the chassis is a one piece with bulkhead.

Some of the revisions coming for the next production run of the LCG chassis kit. Slimmer profile chassis and reduced material in the rear for better sway bar mount clearance and weight saving. Changes to battery brace profile for easier removal.

I will try to mount the ESC on the top deck next, because of the extreme right/left weight disbalance of the chassis. I drive a lot on concrete and the right tires wear out much faster. I will see, if it makes sense...

Ok, first streetrun with ESC on topdeck and it works well. Now I have to race my beast on the local carpet track to look how good it will work with huge jumps.

and wow... the new lipo (5000/40c) has much more power than my old one (4200/25c). Its like riding a cannonball.

Ok, it wins not the 1.place in a beauty contest, but for me it is the best place for the heavy Traxxas ESC to get a better right/left weight balance. A topdeck with a slot for the ESC would be nice...

NEXT MUST BUY: Losi SCTE Shocks (does someone know, if the stock springs that come with the shockset are ok?)

I see only 1 color on there site. Anyone know if I Castle 2650kv motor and 4s lipo will fit in this chassis ?

I cant say this with 100% certainty but I doubt it.
I think they were made just for racing thus fitting a 2s nicely.
That said anything can be modified to fit one way or another.

Yes, they made a new kit and is available now:

As before, they are designed to be a racer's chassis for 2S.

so I take they will not be able to fit a 4s lipo and castle 2650kv motor ? I know they were designed for 2s lipo and racing but we all like to push the limits in this hobby and have some fun.

I own one. There is exactly 37mm of clearance between the bottom of the carbon top plate and the top of the aluminum chassis plate. A 4500 or less hardcase 4s lipo is 37mm tall (typically), a 7200 or less hardcase 3s lipo is 37mm tall (typically). It will fit but you will need to remove the battery mounts near the edge of the chassis to slide it in. It is possible to order the carbon top deck separately. I plan to do that and cut out the area on the top deck to allow the use of any height battery.

I can post pictures later tonight. I only have hard case 2s batteries right now though.

Also, I highly recommend only running hardcase lipos due to the way the battery mounts.

    Here we go...
Figure 1: Measured paper since scale doesn't start at 0.

Figure 2: Allowable battery height of stock top deck. Mounts shown in Figures 5 and 6 must be removed to slide a 37mm battery in due to the tight tolerances.

Figure 3: Area to remove to fit larger batteries.

Figure 4: Max height with cut top deck and stock battery mounts (55mm)

*Note: photo looks like 53mm, but that's due to the angle of the photo, it is 55mm without the foam pads

Figures 5 and 6: Typical areas of damage to soft-case batteries.

    On to the motor!

Figure 1: Max motor length without removing the chassis post shown is 71mm

I wasn't able to get good pictures of the rest, but max can diameter is 35mm due to can hitting the bottom chassis plate.

Some day I'll try to get a build thread to show how everything works together. I purely race this truck (only ran for 2 weekends so far with a thorough cleaning the following day). My plan is to run it in the SCT class for this season, then as a backslash for in the 1/8 buggy class next season.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in using this chassis as a basher (if I was a basher). It has a VERY strong bottom plate and is great quality. The top plate's barely needed due to how stiff the lower chassis is. My only concern would be the corners of the battery where I pointed out in Figures 5 and 6.

Thank you for all the details and info , I actually saw one on another forum that has the plate cut for batteries to fit and a 2650kv castle motor which confirms it fitting for me - http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...hocks-etc.html

Again anything can be made to fit if you want it to.
This brings me to an actual measurement stated above.
I wasn't able to get good pictures of the rest, but max can diameter is 35mm due to can hitting the bottom chassis plate.
If this is correct and I'm sure it is, I doubt a 41.78mm diameter can will just bolt right in, 6.78mm is more then just shaving off the fins as its 39.98mm without them, still 5mm to big around.
There may be more modifications you'll be running into so be prepared.
Again anything can be made to fit, how bad you want it do is what makes it do or undo-able.
Best of luck with your project.

It might work, but it would be rubbing the chassis and likely cause glitching for the receiver. In Figure 2 you can see there's about 1.5-2 mm of clearance between a Novak 550 motor (35mm can) and the chassis. I'll try to get an exact one later tonight for ya guys.
