I just bought a summit that needs new tires (his dog ate them) so which tires are best for decent speed (brushless) and climbing?
Should I just buy more canyons or should I go aftermarket with something like trenchers?

For climbing and trailing and cost, you'll have to look high and low to beat the stock Canyons At about 25mph the Canyons are pretty much at their limit. I've heard of taping them for more speed, but that hurts their flexibility. I've only upgraded to a Dewalt, but I still swap with a set of Trenchers when my son and I bash. I'm still experimenting with climbing with the Trenchers, some on the forum do quite well with them.

I tried the stock summit tires on a long version of the savage hp flux (5sc)
but they blow up and got torn apart right away about 80km/h. so they can't handle the speed.
but it was really fun tough :-D
Since you're getting new tires you're open to quite a few options.
I love the stock wheels and tires, especially when you black out the stock wheels.
I just UPgraded I think, to the Big Joe's and they're awesome in my opinion!
Here's a size difference:
Someone pointed out that this picture makes the big joes appear MUCH LARGER than the stock tires, but they are actually shorter by a small bit. Certainly wider, and certainly meaner looking though!
You can get a pretty decent idea from this image I found through Google:
The bottom right is the stock tire, and the one to its left is the big joe.
not to thread jack but dont want to flood the forums just for one related question...
will these fit a summit without any rubbing/clearance issues?
