revo runs till it gets hot then it quits

I think my 3.3 has seen better days.my revo will run fine for about 5 min. and then it quits and won't prime the fuel line.let it cool off and it will do the same thing.anybody have any advice?think i need new engine.I have flushed the 3.3,cleaned the carb.and adj. carb. to factory settings and still does the same thing.thinking of going with new lrp .30 bb with newera mount.

It's probably shot. You can get a new piston on sleeve for around $60 on eBay.

If you run a good tune the engine should last 6-8 gallons... I've actually gone more but the performance was not there...
    You bought yours used....

Definiately sounds like the piston and sleeve are worn to the point as they expand you don't have enough compression to keep the combustion cycle going...

$60.00 on Ebay gets you a new piston, sleeve AND conrod. Just a thought.

thanks for the info. but the ez start is shot was wanting to go with tiger drive roto start or pull start.and the new 3.3 comes with pull start and new carb for $110 don't see where i can go wrong for $50 more bucks.

think i got the best of the 3.3 when i put new tires/wheels on it.I put the big joes 4.0 on it.then it would barley pull itself.it should run fine with the big tires on it once i replace the 3.3 right???

yeah i don't think changing the clutch bell will help the engine.its toast!
double G do you think the 4.0 tires i have on it will hurt the new 3.3?i know it will put more of a load on the engine because there is more rotating mass,so therefore it takes more hp/torq to turn them.i have 3 sets of tires stock, hpi roadrages 3.8,and the 4.0 big joes.just want to get some advice so i don't prematurly damage my new engine!
and i am running the stock clutch bell gear and 40t spur gear sometimes i put the 38t on it what do you suggest?
