Another Vid of some Ramp to Ramp Jumping from the Weekend. Those Ramps become pretty small when you are trying to land on them

Also Note to Self and Others, be careful how you mount the ON/OFF switch as I had to re-orientate mine after this session as the way I had it mounted originally, on a hard landing the switch would switch itself OFF.

So it finally happened. Broke a rear drive shaft. Already have a full set of Tekno Driveshafts lined up as picked up here on the forum that the stock Driveshafts do have a tendency to break To be honest and fair, I have put my Truck through a fair bit of abuse over the last 2-3 months, and I am actually rather pleasantly surprised that they have held up as long and as well as they did.

Also noticed an issue with my Steering link adjustment screw gouging out my Centre Driveshaft.

What are others doing to get around or prevent this?

Just check the driveshaft cover screw, it's probably gone too far and rub against the shaft, unscrew it a little bit and it will be ok... happened on mine too!

The damage is coming from the Steering Linkage (between the Sevo Horn and the Steering Arm) that is rubbing against the Centre Driveshaft on some heavy landings. Anyone got a way around this?

I have not had the link rub, but the steering arm was. Had to set the steering end points, and lengthen the linkage.

So Stage 1 of my planned undercarriage upgrade is now complete. The bigger Tires (2.8" Trenchers) are on and ready to go. Unfortunately had a few issues with rain and floods this part of the world so no chance to test yet.

Sweet truck mate! i'm in the middle of a 1st slash 4x4 roller build myself. hope it turns out as awesome as yours.... or better...haha

can't wait to see it in action with the trenchers, and how the servo does with handling steering them.
btw... u need bigger mudflaps now!

Thanks guys. Yeah have plans to lift the body, beef up driveshafts etc., but for now just taking it step by step with first the Tires. Need to Test them, if only the Rain would stop.

So I am a firm believer in testing the upgrades and mods I do to my Truck. With that in mind, here is my Vid testing the new Tires. Note that I have not started the planned undercarriage upgrades yet and am still running stock shocks, toe-links, wheel driveshafts, diffs and body mount positions.

Yip. Could not on this test as my slipper had worked itself loose and did not have my tools with me to correct so basically could not accelerate quickly or open up throttle completely during this run.

Next test run for sure though.

Yeah, very happy with the Tire upgrade. It suits how I use my truck and is a decent improvement over stock tires for big bashing and air-control. They do make the truck less nimble on the steering, but as I am not racing this truck it does not really affect me.

I thought so, it was flying nice with those big tires letting gravity bring them down first, nice bounce on landing also....looks like extra bashing cushion!

I had the same issue. I ended up putting liquid tape on and in the switch to stiffen it up. Now it doesn't switch off while running. Also, I've considered just removing the switch altogether, since it stays on most of the time anyways.

Ok, so finally got around to doing an upgrade of the "undercarriage" in my truck.

Not a moment too soon as this is what my driveshaft looks like. So replaced with Hot Racing one which is a smaller diameter which should eliminate steering arm rub.

So hear are the parts ready to be installed.

    Platinum Edition Titanium, Turnbuckle set
    RPM Rod Ends
Tekno Front & Rear Driveshaft Kit

    Here is the end result...

Also decided to upgrade steering servo due to bigger tires....

    The end result.

LOL, indeed, just don't tell my wife.

No real testing yet, just outside on the street briefly. Noticeable difference in steering response with new servo and vehicle is tracking very true and minimal wheel slop. Made sure I put 2 shims between axle carrier and wheel hub. so so far so good. Will give it a proper bash test probably on the weekend.

Okay, so finally had the time to finish my Body Lifting System now that I have the bigger Wheels on. Since I needed to raise the body, I figured I would achieve this by making my own Chassis Braces (like I did to my EMBE) as this would not only raise the Body, but strengthen my Rig's Chassis.

So here is what I made up. 8mm OD 1mm Thick Stainless Tube with Revo Swaybar Rod Ends Superglued into the S/St Tube and fitted with ERevo Steering Turnbuckle Hollow Balls. S/St Tube was then Sprayed Black.

This is how it looks mounted into the Top of the Shock Towers with the Body Posts attached.

Hijack away. I know you get a ready made brace from Axis RC, but they don't ship directly to Oz, so by the time I route through a mail forwarder etc. it ends up costing me $80. This way is way cheaper and achieves 2 Results, lifting the body and bracing the chassis. That's a win-win in my book.

Well after having spent so much time and $ getting my new body done, I decided to try make it last longer by adding a protective Plasti-Dip rubberised layer to the inside. I am hoping it will also help protect the body from the wheel rub which I will be getting with my larger wheels......

    BEFORE:-

    AFTER:-

Added some Gaffer Tape to also assist with the wheel rub.....,

The finished look. I like how the Plasti-Dip made the Windows turn out.....

Have been having some issues with stock wheel nuts coming loose with the bigger heavier wheels on. Loctite helps, but was wondering if there are any better wheel nut options out there?
