I have narrowed it down to these 2 choices. But i havent seen anyone running the sky rc toro motor...
The sky rc motor is quite abit cheaper then the mm motor and thats really the only reason i am considering it...
So my question is. Does anyone know the sky rc motor? Is it durable? does it get hot when i run it on 3c lipo?
and does it fit on my slash 4x4 platinum?
Havent used my car in 8 weeks now after the original motor just stopped working after 2-3 packs. The company i bought it from says they are waiting for traxxas to ship them more motors but they have no idea when. So i have just decided to upgrade it instead.
My advice is don't go cheap on electronics, castle has great customer service, and they have a flat repair fee out of warranty repair service, the same with traxxas, tekin or any other well known manufacturer.
Imo, you get what you pay for. I have the MMM 2650 and my friend a Tenshock X802 for about 50% the price of my combo. It's too soon to have a general comparision, but from what I see, Tenshock as 10 times more cogging than mine.
If you already have an esc that will run a 4-pole motor, take a look at a big leopard or get the castle 2400kv by itself for less than $100.
Or get the motor you mention and review it for us.

My Black & Blue Rally is faster than your color...
i would go for a leopard motor over the sky rc motor. have you thought about a hobbywing motor? they have one about the size of the MMM 2200kv motor its a 4274 2000kv motor. check it out. http://www.hobbywing.com/uploadfile/.../XE-4274-3.jpg

please let us know how you like the motor and how it runs for you
I run the Hobbywing 4274 esc motor combo in an my race truggy. The truck has so much power, will be great in the slash 4x4. The total combo was 208 when I bought it. can handle 4s lipo's great. I'd say that is the setup's sweet spot for the truggy. I'd bet that you could run 5s in a slash.
